YouTube Made Me Do It!

Hello there everyone! I feel like every time I write a post I am apologising for the lack of activity. So sorry! Anyway, today I have got back from my holiday to America so I thought I'd get straight back into the swing of things with a tag. In this tag you have to find products/items in your collection which you bought specifically because of a recommendation on YouTube. Here we go!

The first is one which I saw Essie Button rave about numerous times; Funtime Fuchsia by Rimmel. If you read my Birthday Haul post then you might know that this was actually a present from Olivia and my other friends. I have worn this once or twice so far and am excited to wear it even more!

The next is a blush from Sleek in Rose Gold. This is a very recent purchase and I managed to get a photo while it was still unused! I had seen this floating around YouTube but what pushed me to buy it was when I saw it in Zoe's favourites. It is a beautiful colour and something different to anything else I have!

This was also a birthday present but from my parents; Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Nudist (bit of a mouthful) from Soap & Glory. FleurDeForce and her friends talked about this in one of their hauls and I just really wanted to try it, and I'm glad I have.

Another one from Essie Button but also lots of different YouTubers is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation. I have featured this so many times on our blog so I won't go on about it, but it is a really lovely foundation and I would definitely repurchase.

The next two products kind of go hand in hand in the way that every man and his dog talks about these. They are the Revlon Lip Butters (Juicy Papaya, Raspberry Pie, Cotton Candy) and the Rimmel Apocalips lip lacquers (Big Bang, Apocalyptic, Stellar, Nova, Celestial). I really love all of these lip products and I do think they are worth the hype!

Another really big 'trend' are the Real Techniques brushes. These are a given because they were created by Sam Chapman, one of the Pixiwoo sisters. However, it was actually her sister-in-law to be, Tanya Burr who basically forced me to buy these brushes (joking, but really).

The last beauty product is the Bourjois Color Boost in Orange Punch. Again, it was Zoella who made me buy this, and I really want to get more colours! It is such a lovely product, one of my favourites.

Finally is something a bit different, Ice Breakers Sours. As I said, I went to America on holiday so I was sure to pick up these little sweets after I saw Tanya love them when she went Playlist Live this year. They were a real hit with my family! I just wish they would bring them to the UK :(

So that's everything! There are loads of other things which I could have included in this post, but I didn't want it to be toooo long. I hope you liked this tag! Please comment or contact us if you have anything to say :):):):):):)

Easy Nails using Loose Glitter!

Hello everyone! Today I will be doing a quick 'tutorial' type thing of how to do these glittery nails. It uses body/face glitter rather than glitter nail polish, so it gives a much more sparkly, pretty effect! I wore this to prom a couple of months ago so I thought I'd show you the process...

The first thing you want to do is chose your nail colour and glitter. I used Essie's Fiji and a Mary-Kate and Ashley glitter. I think this is a lovely combination because it is so polished and cute. I also used the Sally Hansen Insta-Dry top coat to finish it off.

Start by doing as many coats as it takes to get an opaque colour. I did two for this colour, but you may need more or less. I also recommend using a base coat if you are using a darker colour!

While the last coat is still wet, sprinkle the glitter all over your nail. This bit can be a bit messy so I suggest using a piece of paper underneath to collect (which I didn't do).

Tap off the excess glitter.

Finish off the look with a thick layer of top coat. This will set the glitter in place and give more shine!

So there you have it! Of course you can use any colours you like, just on one nail, whatever you want. If you try this out yourself please let us know by commenting below, or tweet us a picture at @thechippedtips, we'd love to have a look!

Birthday Haul!

Hello everyone! It was my birthday not so long ago, and I thought I would do a birthday haul! So this is most of the stuff which I received. I am grateful for everything and I hope you enjoy reading!

Firstly, part of my birthday present from my parents was going on holiday with Olivia and her family to Portugal!

They bought me lots of lovely bits and pieces from Soap and Glory.

The Breakfast Scrub was something which I had recently run out of, so I am happy to be reunited! The other scrub is Sugar Crush. It smells amazing and I am so excited to give it a go.

My favourite beauty product category has got to be lip products. I have only used these once or twice so far, but they all seem lovely! The swatches from top to bottom are the Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Nudist, Fabulipstick in Perfect Day and A Great Kisser lip balm in Vanilla Bean.

I'd seen TalkBeckyTalk rave about this cleanser and so when I opened this I was so excited! It is the Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser. You get a muslin cloth included so it's even better.

My group of friends and my sister very kindly gave me some fab things too.

I had been eyeing Essie's summer collection every time I went into Boots, so when I saw this shimmery lilac nail polish Full Steam Ahead I was so happy!

My friends bought the Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon and Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick in Funtime Fuschia; both colours which I have wanted for a long time. Ellen, my sister, bought me MAC's Sunny Seoul. Although it isn't a colour I have heard of before, it is really beautiful and I definitely think I will get a lot of wear out of it.

This is MAC's Greensmoke, also from Ellen. It is a gorgeous glittery dark green eyeshadow. I have used this a couple of times for an eyeliner and I really love it. It is an easy way to do a twist on black eyeliner!

Some other things I got are shown above. You might have seen in my Empties post that I had used the Boots' Own nose strips and they were a bit rubbish. I was so excited to try the Biore ones as they are like the 'creme de la creme' of drugstore nose strips. I have used one and was really impressed! Definitely worth the extra money in my opinion.
My friends also bought me the Real Techniques Blush brush which is as amazing as I knew it would be. You can't see the style in this picture but there is a super cute dress from H&M as well as the Mrs Chuck Bass T-Shirt! It is no secret that I am IN love with Chuck Bass/Ed Westwick//Blair Waldorf/Leighton Meester/Chair so this top is actually perfect for me. If you haven't already, you need to watch Gossip Girl!

Possibly the best part of my birthday was receiving this fabulous array of Percy Pigs. You can only buy these from Marks and Spencers unfortunately, but they are the best ever!

So that's everything that I got from my immediate family and school friends - from my extended family and friends I got mostly money as I didn't ask for anything in particular! Again I am so so grateful for everything I got for my birthday and it was so good to spend time with everyone. If you want a review of anything mentioned here or just want a chat, leave us a comment or contact us!

The Beauty Blogger Question Tag!

Hello everyone! We were looking for a tag to do and found the beauty blogger tag here. We thought it would be fun and so here are our answers! (Anna's answers are in pink and Olivia's are in blue)
1. Name a beauty routine you barely do.
I'm really really bad at doing a proper cleanse morning and night. I can't resist using a makeup wipe to get rid of my makeup, the sink always seems so far away when all I want to do is get into bed.

I hate plucking my eyebrows and so I very rarely do it, instead I get them waxed every once and a while. I just find plucking my eyebrows regularly painful and boring.
2. Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?
Fairly often, maybe once a fortnight I will do a deep clean of all my brushes then ones which get more use I clean more regularly.

I'm afraid to say that I rarely wash my brushes, and I know I should but I just never seem to get around to it as regularly as I should.

3. How long will you last with chipped nail varnish?
I love to paint and repaint my nails so they are rarely chipped for more than a day.

Similarly to Anna, especially during Summer, I seem to be painting my nails almost everyday.

4. How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty or nail polish product even if you need it (i.e., top coat, foundation and so on)?
I'd say I'm quite good at waiting until I only have a few more uses of a product before a repurchase something. I don't put it off because I love buying new things.

I'm pretty bad at purchasing 'unnecessary' products, even when I don't need them, so it means that I rarely find myself having to replace products when they run out, since I have already bought it!

5. What is your worst beauty habit?
It would have to be being impatient with my nails. The both of us are constantly smudging our nail polish and getting annoyed!

I would have to agree with Anna on this one, the both of us never leave our nails enough time to dry fully and so end up smudging them.

6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time.
Cleaning my fish tank..

Tidying my bedroom..the classic

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready until the last minute or not?
We like to be late to most things, so I'd say last minute. Although if there is an event I often get bored waiting for it and start my makeup really early.

I agree again! Anna and I love to take our time when getting ready to go out, so if it's a big event we like to spend all day pampering and getting ready but sometimes we don't leave enough time and are late..oops!

8. Can you commit to spending bans?
To an extent. I've recently conjured up a lot of will power from somewhere - or maybe I've grown immune to Olivia's peer pressure.

Not really, no, usually whenever I have money all I want to do is spend it (there is always something that needs buying?!). Although if I really try hard and need to save then I can, but this isn't very often.

9. How organised is your makeup and nail polish collections?
Very. I love organising and reorganising my collection especially if I find a good storage buy.

Well, I do enjoy organising my make-up and nail varnish, but just like tidying my bedroom, sometimes I just never seem to get round to it...

10. What is the longest time you’ve gone without writing a blog post?
A couple of months during our GCSE period (sorry!)

^ Again, sorry about that ^
